Pumpkin Spice Irish Coffee
A trip to New Orleans started my love for Irish Coffee.
My husband and I sat down for breakfast at a local restaurant on Bourbon St. and naturally, we ordered our coffees to start. The waiter then asks “Irish or Regular?” Of course, he had to explain the difference between the two ‘cause neither of us had any clue. We were on vacation so the minute we heard “whiskey” - you know it’s Irish Coffee for the win!
Since then, I’ve tried a few different versions of the recipe and this is one of my favorites. The hubs and I enjoy one every once in a while when those Fall & Winter days come around.
Ingredients
1 tbsp brown sugar
4 oz espresso
1 oz Irish whiskey
~ 1/3 c Pumpkin Spice Creamer (I like to use Chobani Non-Dairy Pumpkin Spice Creamer)
Optional: Pumpkin Pie Spice
Instructions
Optional: If you’re making a traditional Irish Coffee you’d boil water, and then pour it into your glass (to warm it - similar to how people freeze their glasses for beer)
In your glass pop in your brown sugar, then top with your espresso then give your drink a good stir.
Next, toss in your whiskey. (note: if you opt for using more espresso e.g. 6oz increase the amount of whiskey to 2 oz)
Steam your Pumpkin Spice Creamer then pour it into your coffee mixture.
Optional: Sprinkle pumpkin pie spice, then enjoy!
