Maple Cinnamon Sugar Cookies

Can we just make maple cinnamon treats an all-year thing?

I’m not going to lie, I’m a fall girly through and through. It may be the beginning of the summer, but these maple cinnamon sugar cookies are just too perfect. I couldn’t help myself.

Light, soft, chewy pure perfection.

Summary list of ingredients:

All-Purpose Flour – You can use regular ol’ all-purpose flour to create these delicious cookies. You can sub with whole wheat flour if you’re being health conscious.

Salt – Salty-sweet is always a win in my book. Without salt, your cookies will taste a little one-noted and a little too sweet.

Maple Cinnamon – I’ve been using this spice on just about everything from my morning coffee to baked goods, it’s so dang good.

Granulated sugar – A little granulated sugar will give your cookie the perfect amount of crunch on the edges.

Eggs – Use large eggs at room temperature for the best results!

White Vanilla Extract – White vanilla extract will really take your cookies to the next level and deepen their flavor. Don’t be afraid to be a little heavy-handed.

Ingredients

Ingredients for baking including eggs, flour, sugar, cinnamon, butter, baking powder, and a rolling pin on a kitchen countertop.
  • 3 3/4 cup flour

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

  • 1 1/2 cup butter

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 tbsp Maple Cinnamon Topping

  • 2 whole eggs

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1 tsp white vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and baking powder then set aside.

  2. Using an electric mixer, beat your butter, sugar, and maple cinnamon topping together until fluffy. Let’s say roughly 4-5 minutes.

  3. In your mixing bowl add your eggs and vanilla. Beat until combined.

  4. Next, take your flour mixture and slowly add it to your wet mixture. Take your time and slowly add it in, no need to rush this step.

  5. Next, you’ll take your plastic wrap, lay it down then scoop in your dough. I typically separate the dough into 2 packages. Once you’ve got your dough wrapped up, pop them into the fridge and let them chill for at least 30 minutes.

  6. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line your baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.

  7. Once the 30 minutes are up it’s time to get onto the fun part. Flour your table and then begin rolling out your dough.

Pro-tip dust your cookie cutters with flour before use for a seamless slice.

  8. Get your cookie cutters out and have some fun. Once your cookies are ready to go transfer them to a baking sheet. Optional: sprinkle with additional maple cinnamon sugar

  9. Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes or until the edges begin to brown. Cool completely then enjoy!
